Connect your guitar with ASIO4ALL (low latency)
EdgeSound needs a low-latency ASIO driver. If your audio interface doesn't ship its own, ASIO4ALL is a free, universal ASIO driver that works with almost any sound card or USB interface.
-
Download ASIO4ALL
Get the free installer from the official site: asio4all.org.
-
Install it
Run the downloaded installer and follow the prompts (Next → Next → Finish). No configuration is needed yet.
-
Open EdgeSound → Audio settings
In EdgeSound, open More (⋯) → Audio settings. Set Audio device type: ASIO and Device: ASIO4ALL v2.
-
Turn on your device in ASIO4ALL
Click Control Panel. In the ASIO4ALL window, click the power icon next to your interface or sound card (e.g. “Realtek(R) Audio” or your USB interface) so it lights up blue and becomes active.
-
Set sample rate & buffer
Back in Audio settings, choose 44100 Hz and a buffer of 512 samples (lower = less latency but more CPU; raise it if you hear crackling). Make sure your input and output channels are checked.
-
Play!
Plug your guitar into your interface, load a preset, and play — you should hear it through EdgeSound. If your speakers feed back, enable “Mute audio input”.
